Kingsgrove to Revesby Quadruplication
Project Description
Design, construct and commission two new express rail lines outside the existing local lines between Kingsgrove and Revesby on the East Hills line.
The extension of the four-track system already operating between Turella and Kingsgrove will allow the separation of local and express services on the East Hills line and increase the overall capacity of the system to cater for future population growth in Sydney’s south west.
Scope of work includes:
- Widening of the existing rail corridor either side of the existing track including retaining structures, bridges, earthworks and station facilities
- A new overhead concourse and installation of a lift at Revesby Station
- Installing 15 km of new track, including trackwork, overhead traction, signalling, power and communication systems
- 10 new rail bridges and modifications to five existing bridges
- Major new bridgeworks across Salt Pan Creek and adjacent protected mangrove areas
